June 24, 2011: BOULDER'S ENERGY FUTURE - PART 2 - Steve Pomerance and Ken Regelson join Duncan Campbell on Connections to explore the technical, political, and economic aspects of Xcel Energy's proposal to Boulder for increased wind energy. They conclude that Boulder should continue to explore its options, including looking for similar proposals on the open market. In reality, going with Xcel's wind proposal would not alter the utility's generation mix, which is mostly coal, and would further constrain Boulder in a new 20-year franchise agreement.

June 17, 2011: BOULDER'S ENERGY FUTURE - PART 1 - Susan Perkins of Perkins Energy Law, a local energy advocate, and John Farrell of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, speak with Duncan Campbell about how the centralized electricity model is out of date.  Changing the paradigm to a local, de-centralized model in Boulder, Colorado can free the community to explore more renewable energy options than is currently allowed through the investor-owned utilities.
